I firmly believe that cleaning is much harder for parents than for singles or couples who don't have any children. Not only do they have keep an eye on your kids, but at the same time you have check whether things they have just cleaned are not messy again.
Fortunately, this does not have to be such a chore at all. Using the tricks we have collected for you here keeping your house clean does not have to be so tedious!
Wash socks in the underwear bag
It is a matter of common knowledge that socks do tend to disappear in the laundry. Especially those belonging to our children. Whenever I sort the laundry, I find a myriad of socks without their matches. So if you don’t want your kids to go to schools wearing different socks, always put the dirty ones into the bag so that they won’t get lost.
Baby wipes are magical
It is not just the babies you can actually use the wipes for (in fact there are some who believe that they are not that good for the delicate skin of our babies). In fact, the nappies are one of the most versatile products on the market. You can use them to remove stains, chewing gum from hair, cleaning the car dashboard, degreasing frying pans or other kitchen utensil.
Coffee filter in the potty
Anyone who had to clean the potty knows it is not a nice thing to do. With coffee filters, however, it is no longer such a nightmare. Removing the poo and cleaning the potty won’t take you so long anymore!
Removing ink with a hand disinfectant
Nobody knows why kids prefer their skin, furniture and walls when it comes to writing or just doodling. So if your child has damaged the armchair or your favorite jeans, just grab a bottle of disinfectant and rub it into the doodled spot. You will be surprised to see how quickly the stains will be gone.
Getting rid of the smell of urine from the mattress
It's natural for children to pee while they are sleeping. Although it makes the mattress smelly and dirty, there is no need to throw it away. Of course washing in it water won’t work. What you have to use is baking soda, washing liquid and peroxide. Add three spoonful of soda to a glass of water and then add the washing detergent. Apply the mixture onto the mattress and let it dry. Then sprinkle the mattress with baking soda.
Toothpaste to remove marker stains
Apart from pens, it is markers that make a very dangerous weapon in the hands of the young ones. Whenever your children spot one, you are bound to have some new 'ornaments' on your floor. If you decide to get rid of this alternative art, squeeze some toothpaste onto a moist piece of paper towel or cloth and rub the spot until the stain disappears.
Crayons on the wall
A box of crayons changes any child into a Picasso. Unfortunately they want to boast about the new talent very quickly and everywhere. At least on your walls. Luckily, this exhibition can be quickly closed down with WD40 and a dry cloth.
When dishwashers become ‘toywashers’.
Contrary to what the name suggests it's not just dishes that a dishwasher can wash. This fantastic appliance can also wash and disinfect your child's toys. Just select the NORMAL cycle and use the warm cycle to dry the toys, get rid of microorganisms and prevent the growth of mold.
Remove poo stains with washing-up liquid
When your baby grows older and you say goodbye to diapers, some small brown incidents still happen from time to time. The best way to tackle the problem is a spoonful of washing-up liquid dissolved in two glasses of cold water; using a dry cloth wipe the stain off with the mixture. Repeat it until it's completely gone.
Sweep Lego blocks with a broom
Lego blocks are a blessing and a curse. On one hand children love them as they can spend hours playing with them. On the other hand, they are so difficult to put away. How many times have we all stepped with a bare foot onto a small block left somewhere on the floor. As picking them up one after another is really tedious, why don't you just grab a broom and a dustpan to pick them all up with two or three moves!
