13 Cleaning Hacks That Will Come in Handy So Much During the Spring Clean-Up
The spring has already arrived. Though it is still a bit chilly sometimes, things can only get warmer. I guess this is the best moment to get down to some cleaning in order to prepare your house for a wonderful weather. To help you do that, we have collected 13 useful tips.
#1 Wash the toys
If they are not powered by batteries, you can put them into a dishwasher. The temperature will disinfect them so that once again they will be ready for hours and days in the sandpit.
#2 Scrub the area before your front door
With a brush, a bit of washing liquid and a bucket of warm water, you quickly clean the spot.
#3 Clean the lamp shades
Warm evenings are a great opportunity to read by an open window next to a lamp. As long as you clean the lamp shade first of course. The best way to do it is to use a lint roller.
#4 Prevent your window from getting steamy
Spray some shaving foam and wipe it clean.
#5 Polish the fridge door
Any surface made of stainless steel can be polished with olive oil. Apply just a few drops and polish it well with paper towel.
#6 Wash the inside of the washing machine
Throw a dishwasher capsule into the drum or put it into the washing powder drawer.
#7 Refresh your mattress
You might know this one. Nothing can do it better than some baking soda. Pour the most versatile agent in the world into a sieve and sprinkle it all over the mattress. Leave it there for a couple of hours and then hoover it.
#8 Use a rubber glove
If you have a cat or dog, you know that spring means shedding. To collect the dead fur from the furniture, use a rubber glove.
#9 Make your faucets shine again
Apply some white vinegar on a piece of paper towel. Polish the faucet well. In case of more stubborn residue, soak the towel with vinegar and wrap it around the part of faucet you won't to clean. That will also prevent stone from depositing there in the future.
#10 Clean your microwave inside
Put a bowl filled with 1-2 glasses of water, 2 spoonful of white vinegar and a few drops of essential oil into the oven. Switch it on for 5 minutes and wipe the inside with paper towel. The greasy stains will disappear immediately!
#11 Disinfect the sponge
There are billions of microorganisms living on your sponge. That is why you should either replace it from time to time or disinfect it. To do the latter, soak it in a mixture of lemon juice, salt and water. Put a bowl with the mixture and the sponge in a microwave and heat it up for a minute.
#12 Scour your mug
The stubborn stains can be removed with mandarin peel and soil. Put a teaspoonful of salt into the mug and scour it with the peel.
#13 Polish your floors
This trick is going to prove really useful. Take off the mop rag and glue it with double-sided adhesive tape to your shoes. Then put on your shoes and start polishing!
