A ‘Floating’ Swimming Pool in London Just about to Open
It looks like a ‘must’ for fans of water and swimming. Very soon London will boast about having one of the most unique swimming pools in the world.
A floating pool
Embassy Gardens is a complex of residential and office blocks in London’s Nine Elms, near the US embassy.
What is so unusual about the project? The pool! It’s not underground, and it’s not on the roof, either. It is floating on air!
Swimming high over the ground
The transparent pool will connect the roofs of two luxurious blocks of flats. It is 35 meters above the ground level. Swimming along the pool you will be able to quickly get from one building to the other. Of course swimming.
The residents will also have at their disposal such facilities as a spa, a summer bar and orangery.
The pool will be approximately 25 meter-long containing 148,000 liters of water. It came from Colorado (US) covering the distance of 1,600 kilometers on land followed by a three-week long ship cruise.

The view of London from the 10th floor
The floating pool was originally to be completed this year. Unfortunately, due to the virus situation the plans had to be updated. Its official opening ceremony is due to be held in the spring 2021. The swimmers will be able to find out what it feels like to admire the perspective of London from the tenth floor… swimming!
Just for the richest
The pool will only be available for the Embassy Gardens residents. As it happens, the flats there are really expensive. The cheapest ones cost $730,000 while the penthouses a ‘modest’ $6,000,000.
Any thoughts? Would you like to spend a day by this pool? Would you dare to swim there?
