Long weeks of isolation caused by the virus were a great opportunity to pursue your hobbies or to take up something completely new. Creative ideas can spring to your mind any time and no matter how old you are. It is never too late to learn!

Bea Levache is a twelve-year-old girl from Kent (a county in Great Britain). When the schools got locked down, the girl felt like finding something original to stimulate her imagination. To kill the time sometimes you have to go to extremes. And this is when her mother appears on the stage…

Susie Levache is a professional interior decorator. At work she reuses some second-hand furniture breathing new life into it. While renovating their own house, she asked her daughter for help. She taught her how to use a drill, a level, a polishing machine, a saw and other indispensable tools. It soon turned out that Bea is extremely gifted. With utmost precision and care she measured the office wall and attached pastel pink panels to it. The effect was astonishing, even for her experienced mother!

Both ladies carefully analyzed all the rooms and together they decided to upgrade the kitchen and the stairs.

As it was not easy to get all the construction materials, Bea and Susie made use of everything they had found in their garage.

Paint, stylish handles, pieces of wood, pieces of old furniture and frames – they were all used to refresh their living space. The desk and kitchen cabinets got some new color, walls were decorated with wallpaper as well as some new pictures.

All the materials they bought cost them about $150. It took them 10 days to do all the works. Looking at the final effect, it seems very little. Not to mention the satisfaction they got doing everything themselves.

At the moment Bea is learning to trim the tiles and masters her carpentry skills. She is planning to renovate her brother’s bedroom.
