A Vegan Preschool to Teach Kids About Growing Plants and Living an Eco‑Friendly Lifestyle!
Vegan diet and ecological lifestyle have a lot of supporters. Meanwhile, Australians want to teach even the youngest children how to eat healthy and care for the environment.
A Vegan Preschool
In the city of Barnsley, near Sydney, a fully vegan preschool is set to open its doors in 2021. The Sustainable Play Preschool will accept children from 3 to 5 years old. Open days are currently being held to encourage parents to bring their children into the care of the staff. The preschool will serve only plant-based meals and teach an eco-friendly lifestyle through play.
Art Activities
From the Garden to the Kitchen
Preschool has its own garden. Toddlers will learn how to plant, nurture plants and harvest fruits and vegetables. Then, in the kitchen, they will get acquainted with the necessary equipment and become involved in the process of preparing meals. Slicing strawberries on their own can be a lot of fun 😉 In addition, kids will learn how to make compost and how to collect rainwater.

Activities to Stimulate Creativity
Children will visit national parks and local farms. All of this is done to connect with nature and to see that animals can be raised in a humane way. Next to the kindergarten itself there is a large and creativity-inspiring playground. It features a river, Australian plants growing, and plenty of space to run and low trees to climb. There will also be creative arts and crafts activities, and a cozy reading corner with a hut encourages you to browse books.

Plants on a Plate
Local, plant-based products will be used to prepare the preschool menu. Children will taste nutritious and full of vitamins dishes that will support their growth and development. Additionally, a gluten-free and soy-free diet will be available for those with allergies.
