If you love both nature and contemporary architecture, you are bound to like the project by Peter Pichler Architecture Studio from Milan.

    Houses like trees

The structures were inspired by trees and were created as an extra structure to develop an already existing hotel. The houses with large glazed fronts make the guests feel like they were inside the forest yet enjoying all comforts of a modern interior. The proximity of trees and bushes makes you really feel you are close to nature.

These two tree species are very common in the area. The wood of fir and larch is often used to cover the roofs of houses.

The philosophy of the project was to enable the tourists to experience a deeper contact with nature, following the 'slow life' trend. It was the interior design and the proximity of wildlife that were fundamental concepts here. The floor area of each house is 25-45 square meters (on two levels)

Each structure contains a bedroom with a bathroom (upstairs) and a living-room with a reading room. An open staircase connects the two levels.

This brave design by Peter Pichler has stirred some controversy. What about you? Would you like to spend your holidays there? Let us know what you think.
