IKEA Has Developed a Device That Charges the Phone When You... Put It on the Table
It looks like the phone charges that we use today will soon be a thing of the past. All we will need to do is put our smartphone on the table top and they will get charged. Everything thanks to IKEA Sjömärke.
What is IKEA Sjömärke? It is a small 'box' that you fix under the table top. It works like a contactless charger for standard smartphones.
When you put your smartphone on the table top roughly over the device, IKEA Sjömärke will automatically begin to charge your device. No need for any cables!
To make IKEA Sjömärke work, the table top (though it also could be a desk or a cabinet) must be made of wood or plastic. Unfortunately this is not going to work when the furniture is made of another material (especially when it's metal).
IKEA Sjömärke is just about to be launched. While its European price is still a mystery, we already know that in America it will cost about $40.
