A House Hidden in the Ground Looks Like the Hobbits’ Place. Its Interior Takes You to Another Dimension!
Can you live underground? A Mexican architect has proven that this is by all means possible. Moreover, you can live there in harmony with nature.
At peace with nature
Casa Organica looks almost exactly like the houses of hobbits in the magical land of Shire. This unusual structure is located in Naucalpan (near the Mexico City). It was created in the 1980's by a Mexican designer – Javier Senosiain. It is a great example of the so-called organic architecture – architecture that perfectly blends into the environment and follows the natural shapes of its background (continuous lines and oval shapes)

Nut inspiration
The house was inspired by the peanut shells. Following their shape the architect designed two oval rooms connected by a hall. One of them is a lounge with a kitchen and a dining room. The other contains a bedroom, a closet and a bathroom. Although the house is in the ground, there is a lot of natural light reaching the inside. Everything thanks to large rounded windows.
The rounded shapes of the furniture facilitate air circulation.

Walking on the roof
Casa Organica outside looks like two green dunes. It is covered with grass which protects the inside from the weather impact. You can easily walk on the roof without even realizing that. The structure perfectly matches the environment and as for camouflage, it truly is a masterpiece.

Space for the family
Javier Senosiain lived in this organic house together with his family for over 25 years. His idea was to let the house emphasize the natural beauty of the wildlife and satisfy all the needs of people living there.
