Scented oils of anise, cloves, basil and eucalyptus have a good mosquito-repelling potential. Just apply some diluted oils on exposed parts of your skin or spray them (5-10 drops of oil per a glass of water). Alternatively, you can leave the oils on a source of heat, e.g. a hot frying pan or a fragrance lamp. You can also soak a cotton wad with an oil and leave it on the window sill.
