    How to apply sunscreen properly?

Follow these tips when applying sunscreen - they are always recommended by dermatologists!

Not only UVB, but also UVA

Choose a sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher, which is water-resistant and provides broad-spectrum protection, meaning that it protects you not only from UVB rays, but also UVA rays. This photo shows what a person who has applied sunscreen to half of his face and not to the other half looks like:

How to apply sunscreen - the right amount matters

Apply enough sunscreen. Most adults need about 30 g to fully cover their bodies. Thoroughly rub the sunscreen cream into your skin.

    Again and again

To stay protected while outside, reapply sunscreen every two hours or immediately after swimming or sweating. People who get sunburned usually didn't use enough sunscreen. Or they didn't reapply it after being in the sun or just used an expired product.

    Do it beforehand

Apply the cream before you go outside. Your skin needs about 15 minutes to absorb it and provide protection. If you wait to apply the cream until you're in the sun, your skin will not be protected and may get burned.

    Overlooked areas

Apply sunscreen to all uncovered skin. Remember about your neck, face, ears, tops of feet and legs. If you have thinning hair, apply sunscreen to your scalp or wear a wide-brimmed hat. To protect your lips, use a lip balm with an SPF of at least 15.

For hard-to-reach areas, such as the back, ask someone to help or use a spray sunscreen. Proper use of such a sunscreen is nothing to ignore, as you can see in the photo below...

    Negligence

People who get sunburned usually have not used enough sunscreen, have not reapplied it after being in the sun, or have used an expired product. Your skin is exposed to harmful UV rays every time you go outside, even on cloudy days. So pay attention to how you apply your sunscreen to make it as effective as possible.
