Italians at War with Dishonest Ice‑Cream Parlors! They Face Enormous Fines!
Italy is one of the most popular holiday destinations. The country is famous for spectacular views, wonderful monuments and delicious food. And this is some of the food that Italian senators decided to investigate.
Italian cuisine and its international fame
Italian cuisine has got so many things we all love. Pizza, pasta and ice-cream that's something we can't imagine a good Italian holiday without. Italian politicians decided to make sure that everything is fine with the last asset.
Italian fraud
Some of Italian ice-cream manufacturers play a nasty trick on the consumers. They inflate their products a little which results in expanded volume. In other words, they sell less for the same amount of money. Fortunately, this is expected to be dealt with soon.
According to the new bill, the fines for 'inflating' ice-cream might amount to as much as 10,000 euros. This is also to support small ice-cream parlors. It is estimated that ice-cream available on the market might contain as much as 80% of air while the product supplied by small parlors contains only 30% of air, added to make it more fluffy.
