Queen Elizabeth II Gets Her Own Barbie Doll to Celebrate 70th Anniversary on the Throne
A real treat appears on the market. American toy company has created a Barbie doll that looks like Queen Elizabeth II.
# Significant Anniversaries
Queen Elizabeth II is celebrating as many as two anniversaries in 2022. On April 21, she celebrated her 96th birthday, and this year marks exactly 70 years (platinum jubilee) since she came to the British throne. Thus, in terms of length of reign, she broke Queen Victoria's record (which was 63 years).
# Doll As the Queen
Mattel decided to celebrate the platinum jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II and created a unique doll. The toy resembles a British monarch. She has a white long dress, a blue sash, and bright gloves. Also a tiara that resembles the one worn by the Queen on her wedding day. The doll is packaged in a box that looks like the throne room of Buckingham Palace.
The doll costs $75 and is likely to be a big treat for collectors. This is the first toy of its kind to be made after a still living member of the royal family.
