Watch This Builder Destroy His Entire Work Due to an Argument Over Pay

In the emotionally-charged footage, you can see a construction worker smashing a bathroom with a hammer, but the case is not that straightforward. The homeowner had a good reason to withhold the payment at the time. See below!

    Restoration Unlike Any Other

The story in the nutshell is as follows: Amber Trucke, who lives in Colorado, hired a construction crew to renovate her bathroom. The renovation can be considered done or almost done. However, the woman paid $3330 out of the total amount of $7555 (almost $30,000) and withheld the rest. So the man who was renovating the bathroom came to the woman's house with a hammer and completely trashed the room.

"She Should Have Paid for the Work Done!"

Many people take the builder's side - for them, the case is simple: a lady ordered the service and didn't want to pay for the whole job, the man got pissed and "punished" the woman in his own way. However, the devil is in the details, and when you get to know them, Amber Trucke, not the builder, clearly emerges as the victim in the whole story.

A Visit with a Hammer the day After

First of all, the man demanded payment immediately after stating before finishing all the work and vandalized the room actually only 24 hours after starting work on it. The builder lost his cool before Amber had a chance to talk it over with him.

Amber on the other hand had very specific reasons for not getting him the entire amount right away.

    Doubts

First, although the man declared the renovation finished, it was not actually finished - the doors ordered for the bathroom had not yet been installed. The builder himself also warned the woman that she could not use the shower for the time being and told her to wait a day. He told her to wait a day, so she was not able to check whether the shower was working. In addition, Amber's doubts were already aroused by the quality of the renovation work - the builder made several holes in the ground, left several surfaces with paint and laid the tiles in the bathroom unevenly and carelessly (she documented most of this with photographs). And it was not just Amber's suspicions, but the qualified opinion of other builders to whom Amber turned when she asked them to evaluate the renovation.

Would You Pay to a Bad Contractor?

Is noted as well, that the builder also refused to show Amber the invoices for the materials purchased for the bathroom. Finally, it is worth mentioning that Amber at no time mentioned that she would not pay the contractor, she only refused to pay before checking whether everything in the bathroom works and before installing the door. Despite all that, Amber received a lot of heckling in social media after the case became public (you can read the messenger correspondence between the woman and the builder here).

What would you do in Amber's place?
